Virgin Atlantic has announced an increase in flight frequency to three times per week between Barbados, Grenada, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for the upcoming winter season. This expansion, utilizing the new Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, aims to enhance regional connectivity and facilitate island hopping for travelers.
The new Union Island Ferry Terminal in Clifton, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, will be officially handed over on October 11, 2025. This significant infrastructure project, a public-private partnership, is a key part of the Southern Grenadines' recovery efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Beryl in July 2024.
Despite record cruise arrivals, St. Vincent and the Grenadines faces a challenge with cruise passengers spending three times less than in other destinations. Port Authority CEO Carl James highlighted this disparity at a recent tourism conference, urging local service providers to enhance offerings and formalize operations to boost revenue capture.
