Orange Guinea Inaugurates Ultramodern Headquarters in Conakry, Marking 18 Years of Presence

Orange Guinea Unveils State-of-the-Art Headquarters in Conakry

Orange Guinea officially inaugurated its new ultramodern headquarters on Friday, November 7, 2025, located in the burgeoning Plateau de Koloma district within the commune of Ratoma, Conakry. The ceremony was a significant event, drawing high-profile attendees including Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah, who presided over the proceedings.

The inauguration also marked a dual celebration, coinciding with Orange Guinea's 18th anniversary of operations in the country, underscoring its long-term commitment to Guinea's development.

A Symbol of Investment and Modernity

The new headquarters, described as 'flambant neuf' (brand new) and ultramodern, represents a substantial investment by Orange in the Guinean economy. Construction of the facility spanned nearly three years. The building, covering a surface area of 18,000 m², is designed to be a flexible and iconic structure within the growing Koloma business district. It features a 7-story design of glass and steel, with reports indicating it is '100% made in Guinea' in terms of conception, materials, and job creation.

Key features of the new facility include:

  • Reception areas
  • A conference hall
  • A company restaurant
  • A fitness room
  • Flexible office spaces
  • Two wings connected by a central section
  • Exterior walkways and a shaded patio
  • Two levels of integrated parking
The design emphasizes a strong vegetative presence, integrating planted spaces and greenery throughout the site.

Dignitaries Highlight Strategic Importance

Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah lauded the inauguration as a 'historic day' for Guinea. He emphasized that the project embodies the presidential vision, fosters public-private partnerships, and contributes to national reconciliation. Bah further stated that the inauguration was 'not simply a building that we are inaugurating, it is a vision that we are celebrating. Orange Guinea actively participates in the construction of an economy open to the world.'

Other prominent figures in attendance included the President of the CNT (National Council of the Transition), Dr. Dansa Kourouma, and the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy, Rose Pola Pricémou. Minister Pricémou highlighted Orange Guinea's significant contributions to digital development through fiber optic networks, 4G services, and Orange Money, as well as its support for youth training. She also noted that Koloma is evolving into the new administrative and economic heart of Guinea, stating, 'By choosing to build here, Orange Guinea invests in confidence, stability and Guinean youth.'

Orange's Commitment to Guinea's Digital Future

Ousmane Boly Traoré, Director General of Orange Guinea, expressed satisfaction with the project's completion, calling the headquarters 'a mark of confidence towards the Republic of Guinea and its authorities.' He reiterated Orange's commitment to providing a modern working environment for its employees and expanding its presence beyond Conakry into other regions of the country. The President of the Board of Directors, Brelotte BA, added that the headquarters symbolizes Orange's stability and faith in Guinea's future.

The project aligns with President Mamadi Doumbouya's vision to encourage major companies to establish their headquarters in Koloma. Orange has reportedly invested 200 million euros in the project, creating 1,500 direct jobs. This initiative is seen as a crucial step in Guinea's digital revolution, with ambitious goals including widespread fiber optic deployment, the introduction of 5G, and connecting one million Guineans by 2027.

While the new headquarters is a symbol of modernity and potential economic growth, it's crucial to ensure that the benefits, like digital inclusion and job creation, reach beyond Conakry to rural communities struggling with connectivity.

Establishing such a modern facility signals confidence in Guinea's future and provides a better working environment for employees. Still, it's important to monitor whether Orange delivers on its promises for widespread fiber and 5G, truly bridging the digital divide for everyone.
