Day 3 of KSLTA ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors Sees Surprises and Expected Wins

On September 3, the KSLTA ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors continued in Bengaluru, where the excitement was palpable on Day 3 as quarterfinal matchups were finalized at the SM Krishna Tennis Stadium and Sree Kanteerava Stadium. Among the Boys' Singles competitors, six seeds, including fifth seed Ojas Mehlawat and fourth seed Vishal Vasudev M, alongside several others, progressed to the next round, showcasing their skills on the court.

In the Girls' Singles, the top seed Snigdha Kanta maintained her position of strength, successfully defeating Nandini Kansal with a score of 6-2, 6-2. Accompanying her in the quarterfinals were wildcard Srishti Kiran and several other seeded players like eighth seed Deepshika Vinayagamurthy and fourth seed Aleena Farid. Both established and emerging talents encountered fierce competition, with notable results shifting the dynamics of the tournament.

Vishal Vasudev M displayed his prowess with a decisive victory over Sumer Mehta, securing a rapid win of 6-0, 6-4 thanks to his dominance from the baseline. Meanwhile, Thomas Coppi from France made headlines by overcoming top seed Om Patel with a comeback victory, winning the match 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 after initially losing the first set.

In an impressive display of talent, 13-year-old Srishti Kiran eliminated third seed Harsha Karthika Oruganti in a thrilling match, winning 7-6 (4), 6-1. Despite facing a strong start from her opponent, Srishti found her rhythm, capitalizing on unforced errors to take the reins early in the second set and secure her advancement.

In Boys' Doubles action, second seeds Yashwin Dahiya and Aditya Mor fought hard to reach the semifinals, achieving a 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 win against the duo of Srikar Doni and Rohith Hari Balaji Gobinath. After sharing the initial sets, the team showcased their resilience in the match tie-break to clinch their spot in the next round.
