During a recent session of the UN Security Council, a Chinese representative expressed strong disapproval of the United States’ repeated allegations against China, calling them unfounded. Geng Shuang, China's deputy permanent representative to the UN, dismissed accusations regarding China's alleged export of dual-use materials to Russia connected to the ongoing Ukraine conflict. He emphasized that China did not instigate the crisis nor contributed to it militarily, stating that the nation has always exercised strict control over its exports, including drone technology.
In response to attacks from the U.S. representative during an open debate, Geng remarked that these accusations have occurred several times in just one week. He argued that the U.S. is more interested in utilizing the Security Council as a means to undermine others and further its own political interests than in genuinely striving for international peace and conflict resolution. He expressed disappointment over the U.S.'s approach and urged a change in strategy toward fostering cooperation within the council.
Furthermore, Geng reiterated China's consistent call for a ceasefire in Ukraine and its dedication to facilitating peace negotiations, which he claimed have gained acknowledgment from the global community. He called for unity among nations to address ongoing global tensions, stressing that collaboration is essential in these complex times rather than creating divisions.
