The hotline received a frantic call one afternoon in March. The caller reported that a group of masked officers in plainclothes were abducting a young woman wearing a hijab. The caller urgently stated, "Someone is being kidnapped!"
Danny Timpona, the operator who answered the call, immediately recognized the gravity of the situation. His organization, the LUCE Immigrant Justice Network of Massachusetts, had been anticipating such incidents. They were prepared to respond swiftly.
Within moments, Mr. Timpona dispatched volunteers to Somerville, a suburb northwest of Boston, to investigate the report. Upon arriving at the scene, they found the streets deserted. They began canvassing the neighborhood, knocking on doors and seeking witnesses to piece together the events. A neighbor provided footage from a home security camera.
The video, which quickly gained widespread attention, showed agents from the Department of Homeland Security surrounding Rumeysa Ozturk. Ozturk, a Turkish citizen and doctoral student at Tufts University, was subsequently detained for six weeks. The footage provided an early glimpse of the Trump administration's intensified immigration enforcement policies.

This is a disturbing example of the overreach of government. Holding someone for six weeks without any charges is unacceptable!

The focus should be about illegal immigration, who gives a damn about someone dressed in a hijab?

The video only shows the beginning.. we never know what happened before the camera started rolling!

The LUCE Immigrant Justice Network is probably a bunch of bleeding hearts. Always defending illegals.

Imagine being terrorized like that, my heart goes out to her. This is not how a civilized country should treat it's residents.
