On Monday, a federal jury in Denver determined that MyPillow founder Mike Lindell had defamed a former employee of Dominion Voting Systems. Lindell is known for promoting unsubstantiated conspiracy theories regarding the 2020 presidential election.
The jury's decision resulted in an award of $2.3 million in damages to the former employee, Eric Coomer. This verdict followed a two-week trial, as confirmed by one of Coomer's lawyers, David Beller.
Lindell had made claims, unsupported by evidence, that the election was rigged to prevent President Trump from securing re-election. Dr. Coomer, a former director at Dominion, was among those targeted. Dominion, a Denver-based manufacturer of voting machines, was falsely accused of manipulating votes.
Court filings indicate that Lindell labeled Dr. Coomer a "traitor to the United States" and suggested he should surrender to authorities. In 2022, Dr. Coomer initiated legal action against Lindell, asserting that the attacks had effectively destroyed his career in the election industry and resulted in numerous credible death threats.

Kudos to the jury! It’s refreshing to see accountability for those who spread misleading info.

I applaud Eric Coomer for standing up to Lindell. This type of public smear campaign is unacceptable.

Mike Lindell is a patriot for standing up for what he believes in, and this verdict is shameful!

Finally, a victory for those who face threats and harassment due to unfounded claims. Justice prevails!

Lindell was just speaking his mind. Why should he pay for sharing his opinion?
