The White House announced on Wednesday that President Donald Trump is still open to communication with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, despite reports of a recent rejection.
North Korean media sources reported that Kim Jong Un declined to receive at least one letter from Trump. The two leaders previously developed a rapport, exchanging letters during Trump's first term.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to inquiries, stating that the president remains open to exchanging correspondence with Kim Jong Un. She did not confirm whether Kim had refused Trump's most recent letter.
Leavitt also mentioned that Trump would prefer to see progress made based on the agreements reached during their 2018 summit in Singapore. She deferred to the president for specific details regarding the correspondence.

I believe Trump is taking the right approach. Dialogues can open doors, even with difficult leaders like Kim.

Real leadership means keeping options open for dialogue. I'm proud of Trump for doing just that!

Diplomacy is key! Continuing to reach out could lead to breakthroughs that have seemed impossible.

Every outreach is more embarrassing for the U.S. This isn't leadership; it’s folly.
