Concerns Over Prince William's Motorbiking Passion Extend to Prince George

Princess Kate has been vocal about her unease regarding her husband, Prince William's, fascination with motorbiking, especially as their eldest son, Prince George, now 11, grows older. William has been a passionate motorbike rider since his youth, relishing the thrill that comes with it. However, Kate has candidly shared her fears about this hobby. During a conversation in 2015, she expressed, "He's still riding it. It always fills me with horror when he goes out on it. I'm terrified. Hopefully, I'm going to keep George off it.” Prince William, who passed his motorcycle test at the age of 20 in 2002, owns a notable selection of motorcycles, including a Honda Super Blackbird and a Ducati 1198s.

King Charles also shares concerns regarding Prince William's dedication to motorbiking. In a statement from 2003, William acknowledged the dangers associated with riding motorcycles, saying, "Riding a motorbike can be dangerous but so can lots of things really. Admittedly, there are more risks involved in riding a motorbike than there are with other things ... you've just got to be aware of what you're doing. My father is concerned about the fact that I'm into motorbikes but he doesn't want to keep me all wrapped up in cotton wool.” While both Kate and William promote active lifestyles for their children, Kate's apprehension about George developing an interest in motorbiking highlights the ongoing dilemma of nurturing a sense of adventure while ensuring safety for their children.

Recently, a video of Prince William riding an electric scooter around Windsor Castle captured the attention of royal fans. The clip showed the 42-year-old Prince zipping around the royal grounds on July 4, dressed casually in a blue jumper paired with a white shirt and black trousers, completed with sunglasses. According to a source, the use of the scooter is practical for William, as it allows him to make the short journey from his family home at Adelaide Cottage to Windsor Castle quickly and conveniently, demonstrating his eco-friendly approach to transportation.
