A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, Wu Qian, addressed the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities in Taiwan during a press conference. The Ministry issued a stark warning, stating that they would eventually take action.
The remarks were made in response to reports concerning Taiwan's Exercise Han Kuang 41, which was said to be extending its live-fire phase and mobilizing a significant number of reserve troops, allegedly at the urging of the United States. Wu Qian emphasized that the Taiwan issue is an internal matter for China, and external interference is not tolerated.
Wu Qian accused the United States of attempting to contain China through Taiwan and of supporting the DPP's actions, which they view as provocative and aimed at achieving "Taiwan independence." He warned that this strategy would ultimately fail.
The spokesperson criticized the DPP authorities for their belief in securing US support for independence and resisting unification through force, calling it a serious misjudgment of the situation, public opinion, and the balance of power. He warned that such actions are extremely dangerous and that their efforts to resist the inevitable would only lead to their own downfall. The warning concluded with the reiteration of their intent to take action.

Support for Taiwan from the U.S. is just an attempt to contain China. Wu Qian is spot on in his assessment.

Can we stop pretending that any support for Taiwan is ‘external interference’? It’s called global solidarity.

The forecast of failure is ironic coming from a government that has a history of miscalculating international reactions.

Wu Qian’s statement is a clear example of China pushing its agenda under the guise of national defense.

China's claim that Taiwan is an internal matter is outdated. Taiwan is a separate entity with its own government.

China is right to warn Taiwan. The DPP's actions are indeed provocative and could lead to unnecessary conflict.
