The Fujian Coast Guard conducted routine law enforcement patrols in the waters near Jinmen, an island administered by Taiwan located near the Chinese mainland coast. The patrols, which began in February, aim to strengthen law enforcement and enhance control over the relevant sea areas.
According to Zhu Anqing, a spokesperson for the China Coast Guard's East China Sea Bureau, these patrols effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese fishermen, including those from Taiwan. They also ensure the normal navigation and operational order in the waters between Xiamen and Jinmen.
The Fujian Coast Guard has organized fleets to continuously patrol the waters near Jinmen, further enhancing their presence in the area. These patrols are part of the Coast Guard's ongoing efforts to maintain maritime order and protect the safety of fishermen in the region.

Patrols today, what's next tomorrow? This gradual infringement of Taiwanese waters must stop.

Routine marine enforcement is normal; it should be supported, not politicized by certain forces.
