JD Vance Sells Home in Northern Virginia
Vice President JD Vance is selling his home in Del Ray, Virginia for $1.7 million. He purchased the five-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom property in 2022 for $1.5 million following his election to the U.S. Senate.
Vance's presence in the liberal-leaning neighborhood of Del Ray was met with mixed reactions. Some residents expressed indifference, while others voiced concerns about his political views and their impact on the community. Tensions escalated during the 2024 election campaign when the park near his home was barricaded for security reasons, leading to protests and demonstrations.
Since the election, Vance and his family have moved to the vice president's residence at 1 Observatory Circle in Washington, D.C. The house is located at the U.S. Naval Observatory and was originally the home of the observatory's superintendent.
Vance also owns a historic home in Cincinnati, Ohio, which he purchased in 2018 for $1.4 million. The five-bedroom house sits on 2.29 acres overlooking the Ohio River. Additionally, he owns a row house in Washington D.C.'s Capitol Hill neighborhood, which he rents out. The current tenant has described the Vances as good landlords.
