Celebrating 30 Years of Excellence in Chinese Entertainment

The Star Awards, a prestigious event honoring the best in local Chinese entertainment, will celebrate its 30th anniversary on July 6th, 2025. This annual ceremony, which began in 1994, took a brief hiatus in 2020 due to the pandemic.

The Star Awards recognize the creative talents and outstanding content within the industry. Fans eagerly anticipate the event, not only for the recognition of their favorite stars but also for the dazzling red carpet fashion that becomes a topic of conversation for days, sometimes even years.

The ceremony presents numerous awards, including those for Best Actor and Actress, Best Drama Serial, Best Theme Song, and the highly coveted Top 10 Most Popular Male and Female Artistes.

The 2024 Star Awards witnessed history as both the Best Actor and Best Actress awards were claimed by first-time winners. Jeremy Chan received the Best Actor award for his performance in "All That Glitters," while Kym Ng secured the Best Actress title for her role in "Till The End."

Best Supporting Actor for "All That Glitters," Most Popular Rising Star, and a MyPick! award for Most Hated Villain.

The ceremony was further graced by international guests, including K-pop band Shinee's Onew and Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh, who added to the star-studded event.

Details regarding the 2025 Star Awards are yet to be revealed. Stay tuned for further updates on this highly anticipated event.

A 30th anniversary should mean more meaningful change, not just recycled celebrities.

I just can’t see the point in celebrating a ceremony that seems more about style than substance anymore.

The whole event feels overrated—there’s nothing fresh or groundbreaking here.

All this hype for another event feels unnecessary when there are so many other innovative platforms emerging.
