Mikael Kingsbury and Maia Schwinghammer of Canada emerged victorious in the moguls competition at the FIS Val St. Come Freestyle World Cup, held on Friday night. Kingsbury, hailing from Deux-Montagnes, Quebec, secured the top spot in the men's category with an impressive score of 87.42 points. His fellow Canadian, Julien Viel from Mont-Saint-Anne, Quebec, clinched the silver medal with 80.56 points, while Finland's Olli Penttala claimed the bronze with 78.28 points.
Schwinghammer, representing Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, dominated the women's competition, earning the gold medal with a score of 80.07 points. American Jaelin Kauf finished closely behind with 77.85 points, securing the silver medal. Olivia Giaccio, also from the United States, rounded out the podium with a bronze medal-winning score of 77.71 points.
This victory marked another triumph for Kingsbury, who had previously secured back-to-back World Cup wins in New Hampshire the preceding weekend. In his 16th season, Kingsbury has amassed an impressive collection of five gold medals and a silver medal across seven events during the current campaign. His consistent performance and exceptional skills continue to solidify his position as a dominant force in the world of mogul skiing.
