The Red Cross Society of China has taken swift action in response to the devastating earthquake that struck Southwest China's Xizang autonomous region on Tuesday. The organization has dispatched 4,600 units of disaster relief materials, including essential items such as cotton tents, quilts, insulated jackets, and folding beds, to the affected areas.
In addition to providing material assistance, the Red Cross Society of China has also sent a working group and rescue workers to the region. These teams are conducting assessments of the disaster relief needs and providing assistance to those affected by the earthquake.
The earthquake, which had a magnitude of 6.8, struck Dingri county in Shigatse city at 9:05 am on Tuesday. As of 3pm, the death toll had risen to 95, with 130 people injured. The Red Cross Society of China is committed to providing ongoing support to the affected communities as they recover from this tragedy.
