Dozens of people found themselves snowed in at Britain's highest pub, the Tan Hill Inn in North Yorkshire, after a heavy snowfall. Despite warnings of snow, 23 guests and six staff members were stranded at the pub, located 528 meters above sea level.
The group, including a four-year-old child and a dog, made the best of the situation by watching movies, having snowball fights, and enjoying drinks. Nicole Hayes, the manager of the pub, said that the guests had a "boozy lock-in" and were nursing sore heads the next morning.
"We had a chilled day; we had a little movie day. We had our snowball fight. We all came in, warmed back up, had a movie day, watched The Goonies, and had some tea," Hayes said. "People went and got showered and bathed and stuff, came back down, and then we just partied the night away! There was scotch going all day."
The pub, which also has seven guest rooms, made headlines in 2021 when 50 people were stranded after watching an Oasis tribute band. Owner Andrew Hields said that the pub has a long tradition of hospitality and that the stranded guests and staff would be well looked after.

Nice to see joy in hardship, but let’s not forget the potential consequences of negligence.

Not sure how anyone can think getting trapped in a pub is a good time.

Cavemen used to get stuck indoors too—doesn't mean we have to glorify it now.

Snowed in or not, it's all about the company you keep! Looks like they had a blast!
