The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in Indonesia has issued a formal warning regarding potential coastal flooding, commonly referred to as 'rob', across several regions in Bali. The alert comes as a result of the astronomical phenomenon known as perigee—when the moon is at its closest point to Earth—coinciding with a full moon, which significantly increases tidal intensity.

Affected Regions

The warning specifically highlights six regions across the island that are at higher risk of experiencing tidal flooding. Residents and visitors in the following areas are advised to exercise caution:

• Badung
• Denpasar
• Gianyar
• Klungkung
• Karangasem
• Tabanan

Local disaster mitigation agencies have been placed on standby to respond to any emergencies caused by the rising water levels.
