Of the 157 Ukrainians returned, 150 were military personnel and 7 were civilians. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the exchange, stating it 'came after a long pause, and it is critical that we were able to make it happen'. He also expressed gratitude to those who made the exchanges possible, including Ukrainian soldiers. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the return of 157 Russian servicemen and three civilians from Kursk Oblast. The released Russian soldiers are reportedly receiving medical assistance in Belarus before being transferred back to Russia.
