Ukrainian General Staff Details Latest Russian Losses

Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukraine's General Staff reported on December 1, 2025, that Russian forces incurred significant military losses over the preceding 24 hours. According to the daily update, approximately 1,060 Russian soldiers were eliminated or wounded, and 239 operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were destroyed between November 30 and December 1, 2025.

The report, disseminated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, also detailed the destruction of various pieces of Russian military equipment.

Equipment Losses Highlighted

In addition to personnel and drone casualties, the Ukrainian General Staff's report indicated further material losses for the Russian Federation. These included:

• 6 armored combat vehicles
• 14 artillery systems
• 71 vehicles and fuel tankers

These figures contribute to the cumulative statistics of Russian losses since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022.

As of December 1, 2025, the total estimated Russian combat losses, according to Ukraine's General Staff, have reached approximately 1,173,920 personnel. The cumulative count for operational-tactical UAVs stands at 86,090 units. Other cumulative equipment losses include 11,387 tanks, 23,678 armored combat vehicles, and 34,754 artillery systems.

The Ukrainian General Staff bases its calculations on two primary indicators: 'irreplaceable combat losses' and 'sanitary losses' of the enemy. These daily reports are a consistent feature of Ukraine's public information strategy regarding the ongoing conflict.

Context of Casualty Reporting

Official casualty figures from warring parties are often difficult to independently verify and typically differ significantly. While Ukraine regularly publishes its estimates of Russian losses, the Russian Federation does not frequently release its own casualty figures.
