Ukraine Reports Coordinated Strikes on Russian Military Aircraft Plant and Oil Refinery

Ukrainian forces conducted a series of coordinated strikes overnight on November 29, 2025, targeting key military and energy infrastructure deep within the Russian Federation. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported successful operations against the Beriev Aircraft Company plant in Taganrog, Rostov Oblast, and the Afipsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai. Both facilities reportedly sustained damage and experienced fires following the attacks.

Strike on Beriev Aircraft Company in Taganrog

The Beriev Aircraft Company plant, located in Taganrog, Rostov Oblast, was among the targets. Ukrainian military reports indicate that a fire broke out in a workshop used for repairing Tu-95 strategic bombers. This facility is known for modernizing both Tu-95 strategic bombers and A-50 airborne early warning aircraft. This latest incident follows an earlier strike on November 25, 2025, which reportedly caused significant damage to the plant. During that attack, satellite imagery and reports suggested the destruction of two rare Russian aircraft: an experimental A-60 laser plane and the sole A-100LL testbed for the A-100 radar plane program. The plant also manufactures amphibious seaplanes.

Afipsky Oil Refinery Targeted in Krasnodar Krai

Simultaneously, the Afipsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai was hit, resulting in explosions and a subsequent fire. The fire reportedly covered an area of approximately 250 square meters. Russian officials from the Krasnodar Region Operational Headquarters confirmed the blaze but stated that only technological equipment was damaged, with storage tanks remaining unaffected. The Afipsky refinery is a significant asset, processing an estimated 6.25 million tons of oil annually, which accounts for about 2.1% of Russia's total refining output. It plays a crucial role in supplying diesel fuel and aviation kerosene to Russian forces. This refinery has been a frequent target of Ukrainian attacks, with previous incidents reported on September 26 and August 28, 2025, as well as earlier in August 2025 and December 2023.

Ukrainian Claims and Russian Defense

The Ukrainian General Staff stated that these strikes were part of an effort to reduce Russia's military-economic potential. While Ukraine typically employs domestically developed drones for such deep strikes, specific details on the weapons used in the November 29th attacks were not immediately released by Kyiv. For the November 25th Taganrog strike, Ukrainian forces reportedly used Bars jet UAVs and Neptun cruise missiles. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported intercepting a total of 103 Ukrainian drones across various Russian regions overnight on November 29, including 11 over the Krasnodar region.
