Massive Drone Assault Targets Ukraine

Russia launched a large-scale drone attack against Ukraine overnight on November 27, 2025, deploying a total of 142 strike drones. The assault, which commenced from approximately 18:00 on November 26, involved various types of unmanned aerial vehicles, including Shahed and Gerbera drones, with approximately 90 of them identified as Shaheds.

The drones were launched from multiple directions within Russia, specifically from Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Additionally, some drones originated from Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.

Ukrainian Air Defense Repels Majority of Drones

Ukrainian air defense forces demonstrated significant effectiveness in repelling the attack, successfully shooting down or suppressing 92 of the incoming enemy UAVs.

The defense operation involved a coordinated effort by:

• Anti-aircraft missile units
• Electronic warfare units
• UAV units
• Mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces

According to preliminary data as of 08:30 local time, the interceptions occurred across the northern, southern, and eastern parts of the country.

Impacts and Damage Reported

Despite the high interception rate, 42 strike drone impacts were recorded at 18 locations, with debris from downed drones falling in three additional areas.

The Odesa region was among the areas targeted, where the strike resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure. Reports indicate that two residential buildings, an equestrian club, and a gas station sustained damage. Fires that erupted in some affected areas were quickly brought under control by emergency services. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported in Odesa as a direct result of this specific drone attack.

Ukrainian Air Force officials indicated that the attack was ongoing at the time of initial reports, with several enemy UAVs still present in the airspace.
