Iran Denounces 'Savage' Israeli Aggression in Lebanon
Tehran, Iran – Iran's Foreign Ministry on Friday, November 7, 2025, issued a strong condemnation of recent 'large-scale' Israeli military aggression against various regions of Lebanon. The ministry described the strikes as a 'blatant violation of the sovereignty of an independent country' and a 'crime against international peace and security'.
The condemnation follows a series of Israeli military actions in southern Lebanon. On Thursday, November 6, 2025, Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes in towns such as Kfar Dounine, Tayr Debba, and Zawtar al-Sharqiya, targeting what Israel claimed was Hezbollah infrastructure. The Israeli military stated these operations were aimed at preventing Hezbollah from rearming. Prior to some strikes, evacuation warnings were issued to residents.
Further Israeli strikes on Saturday, November 9, 2025, resulted in the deaths of three people and several injuries. Two smugglers from the Lebanese Resistance Brigades were killed near Shebaa, and a Hezbollah member died in Baraashit. Additionally, seven individuals were wounded near Bint Jbeil.
Violations of Ceasefire and Calls for Accountability
These recent Israeli actions in Lebanon occurred despite a ceasefire agreement signed between Hezbollah and Israel in November 2024, which had brought an end to 13 months of conflict. Israel maintains its right to strike Hezbollah targets, alleging attempts by the group to rebuild its capabilities. However, Lebanon's health ministry has reported that Israeli attacks since the November 2024 ceasefire have led to over 1,000 Lebanese civilian casualties, including deaths and injuries, alongside widespread destruction of infrastructure and residential areas.
In its statement, Iran's Foreign Ministry urged the United Nations, the international community, and regional countries to actively confront Israel's 'warmongering' and hold the regime accountable for its actions. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun also denounced the strikes, labeling them a 'heinous political crime' and a 'fully fledged crime' that violates international humanitarian law.
US Held Accountable for June Strikes on Iran
Beyond the Lebanese situation, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, declared on November 7, 2025, that the United States must be held accountable for its 'direct involvement' in Israeli airstrikes on Iran that took place in June 2025. This assertion followed reports that former U.S. President Donald Trump stated on November 6, 2025, that he was 'very much in charge of' Israel's initial attack on Iran. This alleged admission contradicted earlier U.S. claims that Israel acted unilaterally.
The June 2025 strikes, codenamed 'Operation Rising Lion', saw Israel launch attacks on June 13, 2025, targeting Iran's nuclear and military facilities, including enrichment sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. These strikes were presented as a response to Iran's uranium enrichment activities. The U.S. also conducted its own strikes on Iranian nuclear sites on June 22, 2025. Iranian officials reported that these attacks resulted in the deaths of senior commanders, scientists, and civilians, with the Iranian Health Ministry estimating around 1,062 fatalities by July 22, 2025. A ceasefire between Iran and Israel was subsequently implemented on June 24, 2025.

This is state terrorism, plain and simple. The world needs to act.

Ceasefire agreements are crucial for peace, yet both Israel and its adversaries frequently find justifications for violating them. This continuous pattern leads to immense suffering for ordinary people caught in the middle.

Trump was right to support Israel's defense against Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Iran's condemnation highlights valid concerns about sovereignty and international law, but their own history of supporting proxies also contributes significantly to the cycle of violence. Both sides bear responsibility.

Iran's hypocrisy is astounding; they fund terror and then cry foul.
