Argentina to Host 4th LatAm & Critical Minerals Summit in Buenos Aires and Mendoza

Argentina Gears Up for Major Critical Minerals Summit

Argentina is set to host the 4th LatAm & Argentina Critical Minerals Summit from November 12-14, 2025, with events scheduled in both Buenos Aires and Mendoza. This landmark gathering, organized by The Net-Zero Circle by IN-VR, aims to unite government leaders, investors, and mining executives from across Latin America and beyond, spotlighting Argentina's pivotal role in the global energy transition.

Dual-City Focus: Policy and Finance

The summit will strategically divide its focus between the two host cities. Buenos Aires will initiate the event with high-level sessions dedicated to national policy, infrastructure development, and regional cooperation within the mining sector. Following this, Mendoza will take center stage, hosting a dedicated Finance Day at the Bolsa de Comercio de Mendoza. This segment aims to position the province as Latin America's emerging financial hub for mining investment, providing a structured investment platform to connect vetted projects from Argentina, Chile, and Peru with institutional investors and capital markets. The Mendoza program will also feature an exclusive 'Mesa de Cobre' Roundtable, emphasizing copper's strategic importance in the clean energy supply chain.

Argentina's Growing Mineral Wealth and Strategic Importance

Argentina is rapidly consolidating its position as a strategic supplier of critical minerals essential for the global energy transition. The country is a cornerstone of the Lithium Triangle, boasting major reserves in provinces such as Jujuy, Salta, and Catamarca. Argentina holds the world's second-largest proven lithium reserves, estimated at 21 million tonnes, and possesses an estimated 15 million tonnes of undeveloped copper reserves. Beyond lithium and copper, Argentina is expanding its production of other vital minerals including boron, fluorine, strontium, molybdenum, silver, zinc, and has significant uranium development potential.

The nation's commitment to the sector is evident in its substantial investment in mineral exploration, which grew by 251% over the last decade, reaching nearly US$500 million last year. This places Argentina as the sixth country globally with the highest investment in exploration. Recent developments, such as a strategic partnership with the United States on critical minerals, underscore Argentina's efforts to diversify supply chains and attract international investment through comprehensive mining sector reforms and investment incentives.

Summit Objectives and Participants

The 4th LatAm & Argentina Critical Minerals Summit is expected to convene over 150 leaders from more than 15 countries, including senior government officials, global investors, and C-level mining executives. The event, which has expanded its scope from a previous focus solely on lithium, will now cover a broader range of minerals crucial for electric vehicles (EVs), clean energy, and high-tech applications. Attendees will have opportunities for networking, private B2B meetings, and engaging with key players in the industry to explore the vast market opportunities and Argentina's significant role in the future of critical minerals.

Great news for our provinces like Jujuy and Salta. Direct investment means more opportunities for locals.

More mining means more environmental destruction. Our land and water will pay the price.

Argentina's strategic mineral wealth offers significant economic potential, but we need to move beyond just raw extraction and develop local processing capabilities for long-term growth.
