According to police reports, a 26-year-old Bulgarian driver of a blue Audi, accompanied by a 24-year-old passenger, failed to notice a stationary van on the deceleration lane. The van, occupied by a 55-year-old driver and a 48-year-old passenger, both Turkish nationals, had broken down. The Audi subsequently collided with the rear of the van.
Casualties and Investigation
The occupants of the broken-down van sustained serious injuries, while the driver and passenger of the Audi suffered minor injuries. All four injured individuals were transported to a hospital by emergency services.
Following the collision, an accident expert was called to the scene to assist the traffic police in Nuremberg with clarifying the exact cause of the accident.
