Giovanni Michael 'Mike' Robinson, a 32-year-old Canadian father from Stouffville, Ontario, was tragically killed in a shooting incident while on a golf trip in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. The fatal shooting occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, September 24, 2025, around 12:08 a.m. local time, in the 600 Block of Monroe Street.
Robinson, who had recently become a father to a baby girl just six weeks prior, was reportedly walking back to his hotel after celebrating his first-ever hole-in-one at the renowned Whistling Straits Golf Course. His brother, Jacob Robinson, shared that Mike had called him hours before the incident to share the exciting news of his hole-in-one.
Arrest Made in Connection with Shooting
Authorities in Wisconsin have made an arrest in connection with Robinson's death. On Friday, September 26, 2025, the Sheboygan Falls Police Department announced the arrest of Luis E. Cruz Burgos, 35. Burgos has been charged with first-degree reckless homicide and is currently being held at the Sheboygan County Detention Center.
Initial investigations suggest that Robinson was shot in what is believed to be a drive-by shooting, with police describing the suspect's vehicle as a 'small, dark coloured SUV'. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear as the investigation continues.

Described as a man with a 'zest for life' and an 'incredible, incredible person' by his brother, Mike was living in Pennsylvania with his American wife and was a former player in the Ontario Hockey League. Global Affairs Canada has confirmed they are aware of the death of a Canadian citizen in Wisconsin and are in contact with local authorities and the family to provide consular assistance.
