Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting at an O’Reilly Auto Parts store in Albuquerque on Sunday evening. Upon arrival, they discovered two employees, Richard Newman, 47, and Jesus Valdez, 18, who had been shot.
One of the victims died at the scene, while the other was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities did not specify the location of each man's death.
Ismael Rene Tena, 27, was quickly located and detained by the authorities. He has been charged with two counts of murder in connection with the incident.
According to reports, the shooting stemmed from a dispute over free oil containers. Tena claimed he was entitled to the containers from the store. He and his father had gone to the store to exchange an incorrect oil filter and receive two free oil containers as compensation.
After the employees refused to provide the containers, Tena reportedly took them and left the store. Employees followed him outside, leading to a physical altercation. Tena claimed the workers punched him, but authorities found no evidence to support his claim.
Investigators also learned of a man who had contacted the police, expressing fear for his life after being pursued by two O’Reilly Auto Parts employees. The man provided a name similar to Tena's. Police apprehended Tena after a traffic stop, where they found a handgun holster in his vehicle.

The fact that he tried to claim self-defense is disgusting. There's no excuse for this level of violence.

Two innocent people murdered over a petty dispute. Words cannot express how disgusted I am. Justice must prevail!

This man has no regard for human life. The sentence should be swift and severe. Praying for the families.

This just reinforces my point that violent felons should be locked away forever.

He was demanding free stuff and then murders two people when he's not granted it? This is outrageous.
