A United Airlines flight, carrying 142 passengers and destined for Cebu in the Philippines, was forced to make an emergency landing in Osaka on Friday. Japanese aviation authorities reported that the decision was made after an indicator signaled a fire within the cargo hold.
Footage broadcast on Japan's NHK television depicted passengers evacuating the aircraft via emergency slides. The plane was shown stationary on a runway at Osaka airport.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident. The footage did not show any visible signs of fire or smoke.
The flight, identified as UA flight 32, had taken off from Narita International Airport near Tokyo. The fire indicator activated while the plane was flying over the Pacific Ocean. Officials later confirmed they were investigating the presence of actual fire or smoke.
The Boeing 737-800 landed at Kansai International Airport in Osaka approximately one and a half hours after departing from Narita. The emergency landing prompted the temporary closure of both runways at Kansai International Airport.

Glad everyone is safe but how long are airports remaining closed? All that luggage and stuff will be a pain...
