Discord Disputes Claims on Tyler Robinson's Shooting Suspicions

Tyler Robinson, implicated in a recent shooting incident, reportedly used Discord to drop hints about his intentions. Investigators interviewed his roommate, who presented conversations with an account named "Tyler." This individual spoke of acquiring a "unique" rifle, suggested hiding it in a bush, observing the area, and covering it with a towel. In further messages, there were mentions of engraving bullets and using a scope.

Utah's Governor Spencer Cox noted that law enforcement recovered a bolt-action rifle complete with a scope, found wrapped in a dark towel, alongside bullet casings that bore peculiar inscriptions. One of these markings read, "Notices bulges owo," with others containing phrases like, "Hey fascist! Catch!" and references to Italian partisan songs and humor that targeted readers.

However, a spokesperson for Discord responded to these claims, stating they had identified an account linked to Robinson but clarified that the messages cited by Governor Cox were not sent via their platform. The spokesperson expressed sympathy for the victims and emphasized that the communications in question stemmed from discussions between Robinson's roommate and a friend after the event, rather than originating on Discord itself. They confirmed the removal of Robinson's account for breaching their off-platform behavior policy, reaffirming their stance against violence of any type, including politically motivated acts.
