King Charles recently hosted his son, Prince Harry, at Clarence House. This meeting occurred after a significant period of separation, approximately nineteen months. The brief encounter, lasting less than an hour, involved a private tea between the two. While both parties confirmed the meeting, details of the conversation remained undisclosed. The event has generated optimism regarding a potential reconciliation between the father and son.
Sources suggest that the meeting's occurrence was facilitated by one of the King's trusted advisors, Theo Rycroft. Rycroft, a former diplomat, previously served as the Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Paris. He assumed the role of the King's new deputy private secretary in February, working alongside Sir Clive Alderton, the private secretary.
Rycroft's background includes experience in various diplomatic and governmental roles. He accompanied the King and Queen on their trip to Italy and was also seen with Prince William in France during the Notre Dame reopening. Prior to his current position, Rycroft held positions such as EU Director in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Head of the EU Exit Strategy Department, and Legal Adviser to the Prime Minister.
Before his civil service career, Rycroft worked as a commercial litigation solicitor. He is married to Hon Flora Astor, a member of the prominent Astor family. Lady Flora is also a half-sister of Samantha Cameron, the wife of former Prime Minister David Cameron.

I'm not convinced. Actions speak louder than a quick cup of tea.

Families are complex. Wishing them both the best, whatever the outcome.

The silence about the conversation speaks volumes. Nothing of substance was likely discussed.

Damage control. This meeting is all about controlling the narrative after the Sussexes' revelations.

How convenient that this 'reunion' happens when the King might need the PR boost.
