Residents across the UK can anticipate a rise in temperatures, with certain areas projected to hit as high as 26C in the coming weeks. Weather maps from WXCharts indicate that places such as Birmingham, Leicester, Peterborough, and Cambridge will experience the peak warmth, just days after the country faced chaos from heavy rain and strong winds. Meanwhile, cities like Manchester, Luton, and Sheffield are also expected to see warmer temperatures around 25C, while London and surrounding areas could receive readings between 23C and 24C. Notably, even northern regions like Edinburgh and Glasgow are predicted to reach temperatures of 18 and 19C, marking a significant shift from recent weather patterns.
The sudden increase in temperatures arrives alongside a yellow wind warning from the Met Office, affecting much of England and all of Wales with strong winds expected to start on Sunday evening and last through Monday afternoon. Deputy Chief Meteorologist Stephen Kocher warned that gusts could reach 45-55 mph inland, with even stronger winds of 60-70 mph along exposed coasts and hills.
According to the Met Office's long-range forecast that covers mid-September, there is a possibility of drier weather as the month progresses. Initially, unsettled weather with frequent showers is expected, but there may be a transition to more settled and drier conditions later. While further periods of rain are likely, especially in southern areas, an overall temperature trend may center around averages, although drier conditions could lead to a rise above average during the latter part of the month.
