China Dominates India in Women's Asia Cup Super4s, Securing Final Berth

The Indian Women's Hockey Team faced a 1-4 defeat against China in their second Super4s Pool match at the Women's Asia Cup 2025 in Hangzhou on Thursday. Mumtaz Khan scored the sole goal for India, while Zou Meirong (twice), Chen Yang, and Tan Jinzhuang found the net for China.

Despite India's attempts to equalize, they were unable to convert their chances, including a penalty corner in the tenth minute.

The second quarter remained scoreless, with both teams displaying end-to-end action. India increased their pressure in the final five minutes, seeking their first goal. They earned another penalty corner, but it didn't result in a goal, leaving them trailing at halftime.

China extended their lead early in the third quarter with a goal from Chen Yang. India responded with a remarkable field goal by Mumtaz Khan, reducing the deficit. Bichu Devi made a crucial save to prevent China from scoring again.

China dominated the final quarter, scoring two more goals. Tan Jinzhuang converted a penalty corner, and Zou Meirong scored another field goal, securing China's victory and a place in the final.
