Brazil's Supreme Court has delivered a historic verdict, convicting Jair Bolsonaro, the former president, for attempting a coup. This marks the first time in the nation's history that a former president has been found guilty of such a charge.
Bolsonaro, a 70-year-old figure associated with far-right politics, maintains his innocence, asserting that he is the target of political persecution. However, a majority of the judges, specifically three out of five, determined that sufficient evidence existed to prove that Bolsonaro and his close associates had actively sought to undermine the 2022 election results. He had lost the election to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
In addition to Bolsonaro, seven other individuals who served in his administration were also convicted. Notably, this group included high-ranking military officers. This aspect of the ruling is also unprecedented, particularly considering Brazil's history of a harsh two-decade military dictatorship that lasted from 1964 to 1985.

Where's the concrete proof? This feels like a fabricated narrative.
