ICE Raids Chicago, Targeting Criminal Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary City Crackdown

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted arrests in Chicago, a city with sanctuary policies, targeting individuals deemed dangerous criminal illegal immigrants. These individuals were apprehended for serious offenses, including sexual assault of a child family member, rape, armed robbery, and domestic battery.

These arrests were part of Operation Midway Blitz, an initiative dedicated to honoring Katie Abraham, who was tragically killed in a drunk-driving hit-and-run incident caused by an illegal immigrant.

According to DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, ICE arrested numerous individuals in Chicago within a short period, including those involved in pedophilia, rape, abuse, armed robbery, and other violent crimes. She criticized the sanctuary policies of Governor Pritzker, Mayor Johnson, and other local politicians, alleging they prioritize protecting these individuals over law-abiding citizens.

McLaughlin further stated that these criminal illegal aliens are drawn to Illinois due to sanctuary policies that allow them to operate freely and endanger innocent Americans without facing consequences. She conveyed a clear message from President Trump and Secretary Noem, asserting that no city is a safe haven for criminal illegal aliens. The message emphasized that those who enter the country illegally and break the law will be pursued, arrested, deported, and barred from returning.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) provided mugshots of those arrested, describing them as some of the most serious offenders. DHS affirmed its commitment to law enforcement and public safety, stating that it will continue its mission undeterred. ICE resources are being increased in Chicago, in collaboration with federal partners from the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice.
