This group, dedicated to sending aid to Gaza, reported that one of its vessels was struck by a drone while it was docked in waters off Tunisia, just a day after a similar incident was reported.

The Global Sumud Flotilla confirmed that their boat, named 'Alma' and flying under the British flag, was hit by a drone attack on September 9. Fortunately, there were no injuries among the passengers and crew, and the fire caused by the attack was quickly extinguished. The group is currently conducting an investigation and has promised to release more information as it becomes available, including a video that purportedly captured the moment of the strike.

This series of drone assaults comes amid heightened Israeli military actions against Palestinians in Gaza, which the Global Sumud Flotilla believes are strategically designed to disrupt their humanitarian mission. Despite these attacks, the flotilla remains committed to its goal of challenging Israel's blockade on Gaza, with participants, including noted climate activist Greta Thunberg, vowing to continue their journey.

Initial dismissals of the allegations by Tunisian officials have led to a formal investigation now underway in Tunisia, although the Ministry of the Interior has yet to respond to requests for comments about the incidents. Israeli authorities maintain a maritime blockade of Gaza, interpreting the flotillas as publicity stunts and asserting that the blockade is crucial to prevent weapon smuggling into the region governed by Hamas.
