Today marks the third anniversary of King Charles’ accession to the throne, and it has been a particularly eventful year for him, as indicated by new data. Despite his ongoing battle with cancer, the King has reached several significant milestones over the past year—as seen in his celebration of both the 80th anniversary of VE Day and his 20th wedding anniversary with Queen Camilla.
In the last year, King Charles has participated in official engagements on 175 days, which is a jump from 133 days the previous year and 161 in his inaugural year. Notably, he has commemorated his 1000th day as monarch. His third year also featured extensive travels, including significant trips to Australia, Samoa, and Canada, highlighting his dedication to royal duties.
The statistics detailing these engagements have been compiled by the PA News Agency from the official record known as the Court Circular. It is important to clarify that private events, such as attending church without public duties, were not counted in the total. The King also conducted 11 meetings of the Privy Council during this year. Comparatively, Queen Camilla engaged in official duties for 103 days, which represents a slight drop from 107 days in the previous year, a time when she undertook additional responsibilities on behalf of the King during his initial cancer treatment.
In addition to his domestic activities, King Charles traveled internationally for the first time to Australia after becoming king, continuing on to Samoa to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting. Another notable trip in May 2025 involved a two-day visit to Canada, where he participated in various engagements, including the opening of Parliament. His year also included travel to Poland on Holocaust Memorial Day, where he took part in observances marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Not to be overlooked, in April 2025, he made a historic speech to the Italian parliament, adding to his previous achievements of becoming the first British monarch to address both the French senate and the German Bundestag in 2023.

The Court Circular again...a carefully curated PR exercise, not a reflection of real transparency.
