U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) initiated Operation Midway Blitz in Chicago this week, resulting in the arrest of numerous criminal illegal immigrants. Fox News accompanied agents for an exclusive look at the operation.
On Tuesday, ICE agents apprehended a Mexican national based on a federal criminal arrest warrant related to multiple felony re-entries into the United States. The individual had previously been deported twice to Mexico and returned to the U.S. a third time. He also faces charges for assault in a prior case. Fox News cameras documented the agents' approach and the subsequent arrest, which involved breaking a car window as the individual attempted to avoid capture. He is expected to face federal criminal prosecution before deportation.
On Monday, Fox News followed ICE agents as they arrested a 43-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico who was convicted last year of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13. He remains in custody.
ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheahan stated that the operation will target the most serious offenders. She emphasized that the agency would continue its efforts despite any opposition. The Department of Homeland Security announced that the operation is dedicated to the memory of Katie Abraham, who was killed in a drunk-driving hit-and-run earlier this year. The driver was an illegal migrant from Guatemala.
Katie Abraham's father, Joe Abraham, expressed his hope that state leaders would collaborate with the federal government to ensure public safety. The operation involves collaboration with other federal agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the U.S. Marshals Service. The operation is anticipated to last for several weeks.

Thank you, ICE, for keeping our streets safe from individuals who have shown repeat criminal behavior.

They act like illegal immigrants are the only ones committing crimes in this country—what about all the criminals in suits?

Breaking windows and arresting people in this way is not humane or just. There must be a better approach.

Public safety cannot come at the expense of human rights. This is not how we should treat fellow human beings.

It’s about time the government takes a stand against illegal immigration, especially those with serious criminal backgrounds!

The stories of victims like Katie Abraham highlight the need for stronger enforcement. This is a necessary step.
