In a significant development surrounding Jeffrey Epstein's final hours, a missing minute of surveillance footage has now become available after a recent document release by the Justice Department. This footage was part of a broader dump of over 33,000 pages related to Epstein, which became public following a request by the House Oversight Committee.
Observers had pointed out a 61-second gap in the 11 hours of footage released back in July, with a digital clock notably skipping from 11:58:58 p.m. on August 9 to midnight on August 10. Attorney General Pam Bondi attributed this gap to a legacy recording system that resets at midnight each day. However, the new footage, released alongside two additional hours of recordings, includes data showing camera activity around midnight, raising further speculation.
The latest footage, confirmed by Fox News Digital, primarily displays guards operating near Epstein's cell, and does not appear to demonstrate any disruptive lapses in the surveillance. Yet, experts have critiqued the validity of the footage, suggesting it may have been altered. Analysis revealed that its metadata indicated the file was created in May 2023 rather than the timeline of 2019, and forensic expert Hany Farid expressed concerns over its evidentiary value in court.
Despite the emergence of this footage, critics, including Democratic committee member Robert Garcia, have suggested that most of the information in the release was already known, with claims that “97 percent” of the material was public prior to this dump. The release encompassed a comprehensive range of documents beyond just video, including court filings and emails that provide a broader context to Epstein's controversial case.

Are we really falling for this? The focus shouldn’t be on this minute of footage but on the victims and their stories!
