In a Wednesday game, Yudai Ono pitched six innings, allowing two runs, as the Chunichi Dragons defeated the Tigers with a score of 5-2. This outcome meant that the Hanshin Tigers' magic number, the number needed to clinch the Central League pennant, remained at six.
Ono, with a record of 9-4, conceded a solo home run to Hayato Nakagawa in the third inning at Vantelin Dome Nagoya. He managed to navigate through challenging situations with runners on base in the following two innings. The Dragons then rallied in the fifth inning, scoring four runs.
Seiji Uebayashi drove in a run with a single, and Seiya Hosokawa hit a three-run home run to right field against Tigers starter Masashi Ito. Ito, who gave up five runs on ten hits and a walk over six innings, took the loss. Ono allowed five hits and a walk, and gave up another solo home run in the sixth inning, this time to Shota Morishita. Takaya Ishikawa quickly extended the home team's lead in the bottom of the sixth. Shinya Matsuyama secured his league-leading 38th save, ending the Tigers' three-game winning streak.

It was a close game, and Ito struggled a bit. But they can bounce back!

The Tigers gotta tighten up their defense. Those runs in the 5th cost them the game.

Hosokawa's homer was a dagger. Good thing I didn't bet on Hanshin.
