BJP Leaders Condemn Derogatory Remarks Against PM Modi's Late Mother During Bihar Protests

In a strong reaction to derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late mother at a recent Voter Adhikar Yatra event in Darbhanga, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad expressed deep condemnation. He labeled the comments as highly disgraceful and emphasized that the opposition leaders, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, should be held accountable for their actions, insisting that the BJP would have taken serious measures had the roles been reversed.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) demonstrated their discontent by organizing a five-hour Bihar Bandh as a sign of solidarity with PM Modi. Prasad was vocal during the protests, stating that showing disrespect towards someone's mother contradicts the traditional values upheld in Indian society. He specifically mentioned the notable journey of PM Modi's mother from poverty to raising a Prime Minister, asserting that abusing her is completely unacceptable. He also warned that the voters in Bihar would respond to the alleged disrespect shown by the opposition.

Additionally, Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal joined the call for an apology from the opposition leaders, reinforcing the message that their remarks were inappropriate and should be publicly addressed. At the protests, his comments echoed a sentiment shared by other BJP officials, who stressed the importance of respecting the Prime Minister as a symbol of the state.

Further escalating the situation, Bihar Minister Krishna Kumar Mantoo demanded legal consequences for those who insulted PM Modi and his mother, reinforcing that the Prime Minister holds a significant status as a leader.
