The women's singles final at the BWF World Championships was a disappointing contest, primarily due to the physical condition of Chen Yufei. The Olympic champion from Tokyo, still suffering from an ankle injury sustained in the semifinal, was visibly hampered. Despite taking painkillers before the match, her movement was clearly restricted.
Akane Yamaguchi of Japan capitalized on the situation. She played aggressively and precisely, unaffected by Chen's injury. Yamaguchi secured a comfortable victory with scores of 21–9 and 21–13, earning her third world championships title.
For Chen, it was her second time in a world final. Despite her determined effort, the injury significantly impacted the match, transforming it into a one-sided affair instead of the competitive battle spectators had anticipated.
In mixed doubles, Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei of Malaysia achieved an upset victory over China's Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin. They won in straight games with scores of 21–15 and 21–14, securing Malaysia's first-ever world championships gold in the mixed doubles event.
The men's doubles final saw the top seeds, Kim Won ho and Seo Seung jae of South Korea, defeat the Chinese debutants Chen Boyang and Liu Yi. They won with scores of 21–17 and 21–12, claiming the title.

Let’s not diminish Yamaguchi’s victory just because of Chen’s injury. She played an outstanding match!

What a disappointing display for a world championship. Injured players shouldn't be allowed to participate.

Chen showed us what it means to be brave; competing while injured isn’t easy, and she fought till the end.

Chen will come back stronger! Sometimes setbacks pave the way for comebacks, and I believe she can learn from this.

Akane Yamaguchi played brilliantly! It's a shame about Chen's injury, but Yamaguchi capitalized on the opportunity.
