Other notable plays included an RBI single by Teoscar Hernández and a home run by Andy Pages, which tied the game. Henry Davis drove in a run for the Pirates, and Triolo added a two-run double.
Chandler, in relief, allowed three runs on six hits in four innings. Dennis Santana secured his 12th save. Clayton Kershaw pitched five innings, recovering after a challenging first inning.
In the eighth inning, Triolo scored an insurance run for the Pirates. Ohtani's second double of the game occurred in the ninth inning.
Ohtani previously reached 100 home runs with the Los Angeles Angels in 444 games. Ohtani is scheduled to pitch the following day.
