During an event held in the Oval Office on September 2, 2025, President Donald Trump addressed reports circulating on social media regarding his health. He dismissed these reports, stating he had been actively engaged over the Labor Day weekend, including conducting media interviews and visiting his Virginia golf course.
Trump, who became the oldest person to assume the US presidency at the age of 79 in January, was questioned by reporters about the reports. He labeled them as "fake." The speculation about his health had gained traction on the social media platform X over the weekend. This was fueled by the absence of a public schedule for Trump late last week and an interview with Vice President JD Vance published by USA Today on Thursday.
In the interview, when asked about his readiness to assume the role of commander in chief, Vance expressed confidence in Trump's well-being but also indicated his preparedness to step in if necessary. Trump's last extensive interaction with reporters prior to Tuesday was during a cabinet meeting a week earlier, where he led a three-hour session on August 26, marking his longest on-camera appearance as president.
Over the Labor Day weekend, Trump was observed leaving the White House daily to visit his golf course. Previously, on April 11, he underwent a comprehensive physical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, which revealed a normal heart rhythm and no significant health issues, according to official results released by the White House.
In July, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt addressed concerns about swelling in Trump's lower legs and bruising on his right hand. His physician, Sean Barbabella, attributed the leg issue to "chronic venous insufficiency," a common condition, and the bruising to minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and aspirin use. The White House has since downplayed concerns about Trump's health without providing details on the treatment for the leg issue.

He's not just sitting idle; he’s actively engaging with the public. That's what matters.

He’s out there doing interviews and playing golf – sounds fine to me!

Media needs to focus on substance, not sensational rumors about a healthy leader.

Just because he says he's fine doesn’t mean we should dismiss the numerous health rumors floating around.

Let’s not forget that he just had a physical. The results were normal. Why create panic?

It’s ridiculous how the media spreads rumors without any evidence. Trump's health is good!
