Meghan Markle Reportedly "Fuming" Over Kate's Popularity, Says Former Friend

According to a former friend, Meghan Markle is reportedly upset that Princess Kate is more beloved by the British public. The Duchess of Sussex, along with Prince Harry, stepped down from their royal roles in 2020 and now resides in California with their two children. Kate, a highly regarded member of the Royal Family, enjoys significant popularity.

Surveys have consistently indicated a decline in Meghan's popularity in the UK since the couple's decision to step back from royal duties. Lizzie Cundy, a model and media personality who was once friendly with Meghan, has stated that Meghan is struggling with Kate's greater popularity. Cundy, who first met Meghan in 2013, has advised her former friend to change her approach.

Cundy, speaking to the Daily Mail, suggested that Meghan needs to move past her bitterness and anger. She also commented on Meghan's Netflix series, suggesting that she should be authentic rather than trying to emulate others. Cundy believes that Meghan needs to stop pretending and embrace her true self.

A YouGov poll from August 2025 revealed that only 20% of respondents held a favorable view of Meghan, while 71% had a positive opinion of Kate. Earlier in the year, Cundy had also commented that Meghan was eager to be liked and sought to outdo the Royal Family in her endeavors.
