Qatar Airways has announced an expansion of its flight schedule to Doha, a destination increasingly favored by British travelers for its luxurious yet affordable offerings. Starting soon, the airline will increase its daily flights from London Heathrow to Doha from eight to ten, while its weekly flights from Manchester will rise from 21 to 24. These flights, which have an approximate duration of eight hours, serve not only those visiting Doha but also as a connecting point for passengers traveling to Asia and Australia.
Additionally, travelers from other European cities like Madrid, Frankfurt, Berlin, and Dublin will benefit from the increased flight options. Qatar Airways has established itself as one of the premier airlines globally, recently securing top honors at the Skytrax awards, which are often dubbed the aviation Oscars.
In response to growing global demand, the airline is also set to introduce new flights from Melbourne and revive routes from Canberra this winter. Thierry Antinori, the chief commercial officer of Qatar Airways, highlighted that there has been a consistent increase in demand for the airline's five-star services, especially to major destinations including London, Dublin, Cape Town, and São Paulo.
Doha's appeal lies in its reputation as a destination for "cheap luxury," which was notably endorsed by presenter Josie Gibson, who praised the quality and affordability of the city’s hotels. According to her, experiences that would typically cost around £1,000 a night in London can be enjoyed in Doha for about £200, exemplifying the remarkable value the city offers.

Eight hours is a long flight, even if its luxurious.

Cheap luxury" could mean cutting corners somewhere. It is important to be cautious of false advertising.

The aviation Oscars seals the deal for me. Qatar Airways is the best!

This just fuels more consumerism. Travel needs more scrutiny.
