David Warburton, a former Conservative MP, has passed away at the age of 59. He resigned from his position after facing accusations of sexual misconduct and admitting to cocaine use. Police discovered him at a flat in west London.
Warburton represented the Somerton and Frome constituency in Somerset from 2015 until June 2023. The Metropolitan Police reported that officers were called to Sands End, Fulham, on August 26th, where a man in his 50s was found deceased. Authorities have classified the death as unexpected but not suspicious.
Before his resignation, Warburton had denied allegations of sexual misconduct and criticized a parliamentary investigation into the claims. He stated he was denied a fair hearing and felt compelled to resign, leading to a by-election won by Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Dyke. The allegations were later withdrawn, and the House of Commons probe was closed.
Marcus Fysh, a former Tory MP, expressed his sadness, remembering Warburton as a dedicated colleague and advocate for Somerset and Britain. Simon Danczuk, a former Labour MP, also shared his condolences, noting that Warburton had been cleared of wrongdoing and was doing well recently.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident, stating that the London Ambulance Service was called to Chelsea Crescent, Sands End, on August 26th. A man in his 50s was found dead at the scene, and his next of kin were notified. The London Ambulance Service reported that they were called to the same location on the same date and that a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Very sad news. Regardless of the past, it's always a loss when someone dies young.
