Following the Alaska summit between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, the path forward for resolving the Ukraine conflict and stabilizing US-Russia relations is becoming clearer. The potential for an end to the Ukrainian conflict is emerging, though not through a simple ceasefire, as Putin and Trump seem to suggest. However, this perspective clashes with the views of Ukraine and its European allies.

Ukraine, facing political and economic instability and plagued by corruption, struggles to overcome the crisis. Western military and financial aid, rather than providing a solution, may be exacerbating the situation.
