Authorities have initiated an investigation following a disturbing discovery in a Welsh seaside town. A severely burned body was found within a vehicle that had been consumed by fire in Porthcawl, a town with a population of approximately 16,000. The grim find was made after emergency services responded to a fire on a residential street in the early hours of August 28th.
South Wales Police confirmed that they were alerted to a "fire incident" involving multiple vehicles on Thursday morning. After the fire was brought under control, a deceased individual was discovered inside one of the vehicles located on Mackworth Road. The police have stated that investigations are currently underway.
A police spokesperson reported that the South Wales Police received a call at 2:50 am on Thursday, August 28th, from the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, reporting the fire incident on Mackworth Road. Formal identification of the deceased has not yet been completed, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
A cordon has been established, restricting access on Mackworth Road from Bungalow Avenue to the beach. Pedestrian access across Mackworth Road, connecting the Hi Tide complex to Coney Beach amusement park, is also unavailable. The police are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire. A local resident reported hearing "loud bangs" around the time the incident was reported to the police.

I’m disturbed by how casually the police have handled this. A life was lost; they should be more vigilant!
