Princess Marie Caroline of Liechtenstein is preparing to marry Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer. The wedding is scheduled to take place at Vaduz Cathedral on August 30th. The Princely House of Liechtenstein announced the engagement last October. This marks the first marriage for any of Hereditary Prince Alois and Princess Sophie's children.
The 28-year-old princess currently resides in London with her fiancé. She is the second child and only daughter of the couple. Princess Marie Caroline pursued her education at the Parsons School of Design in both Paris and New York, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design in 2020. Born in 1996, she is not in the line of succession.
Liechtenstein operates under agnatic primogeniture, a rule that excludes women from the throne and the line of succession. All three of her brothers are included in the line of succession. Her eldest brother, Prince Joseph Wenzel, was born in 1995. Following her birth, Prince Georg was born in 1999 and Prince Nikolaus in 2000.
Princess Marie Caroline is a member of the wealthiest European monarchy. Her grandfather, Prince Hans-Adam, has a substantial net worth, with much of his wealth stemming from the Royal Family's private bank, LGT Group.
