On August 25, 2025, V, a member of the popular South Korean K-pop group BTS, was present at a baseball game in Los Angeles. He was seen during batting practice before a game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds.
The K-pop star threw the ceremonial first pitch at the Dodgers game. Prior to taking the mound, he had the opportunity to meet Shohei Ohtani, a two-way baseball superstar. After his pitch, V bowed slightly towards Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who caught the strike. The stadium was filled with the excited screams of BTS fans throughout his appearance.
Before the game against Cincinnati, V, whose given name is Kim Taehyung, shared a brief hug with Ohtani in the team's dugout. He was seen wearing a No. 7 jersey tucked into faded jeans. He also engaged in a conversation with Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow in front of numerous photographers. When V entered the dugout, fans erupted in cheers, which he acknowledged with a wave.
V later returned to the field to throw left-handed warmup pitches, while fans captured the moment with their camera phones.
BTS is scheduled to release a new album as a full group in the spring, following the completion of the band members' mandatory military service in South Korea. The group has been in the United States since July, working on new music.

The amount of money spent to stage this should have been allocated to the group's music.
