Trump Calls for Charges Against George Soros and Son Without Evidence

In a recent statement made on August 27, US President Donald Trump suggested that billionaire financier and Democratic donor George Soros, along with his son, should face federal racketeering charges. However, Trump has not presented any evidence to substantiate his claims. Critics accuse him of leveraging lawsuits, executive privileges, and public threats as a means to challenge his political adversaries, while his supporters view these actions as accountability measures against influential figures.

Soros, who is 95 years old and a Holocaust survivor, has frequently been targeted by Trump and his conservative allies. His organization, the Open Society Foundations, is involved in funding various global initiatives related to human rights, education, health, and governance. In his statement on Truth Social, Trump asserted that the duo should be charged due to their alleged backing of violent protests and other actions throughout the United States.

In response to these allegations, a spokesperson for Open Society Foundations labeled Trump's comments as “outrageous and false,” emphasizing that their organization does not support or fund any violent protests. They reiterated their mission to promote human rights, justice, and democratic values both domestically and internationally.
