Joelinton will be unavailable for Brazil's upcoming World Cup qualifiers. The Brazilian Football Confederation announced on Wednesday that he sustained an injury during Newcastle United's Premier League match against Liverpool, which Newcastle lost 3-2.
The midfielder was visibly distressed as he left the field during the second half of the game on Monday. Newcastle's manager, Eddie Howe, later confirmed the severity of the injury, stating that it "doesn't look great."
In response to Joelinton's absence, Brazil's coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has called up Jean Lucas from Bahia. Additionally, Alex Sandro, a left-back for Flamengo, has also been withdrawn from the squad due to injury.
Brazil's remaining qualifiers include a match against Chile at the Maracana stadium on September 4th. They will then travel to Bolivia for their final qualifier five days later. Currently, the team holds the third position in the CONMEBOL qualifying standings, with a total of 25 points.

Even without Joelinton, I believe in our squad. We have depth to handle this!

Ancelotti has his work cut out for him. Losing key players is never good news.

We’ve seen many teams overcome injuries. Let’s not write off Brazil just yet!

What a shame—there goes our midfield plans. I hope Jean Lucas can handle the pressure!
